On Thursday, September 25th, 2008 the Fire Company was invited to attend a vigil and memorial services starting at 1900 for the fire victims who were affected in the multiple fatality fire in Coatesville City which occurred on September 20th, 2008.

The memorial service and benefit was held at the Hayti Park, next to the Valley Township Municipal Building on Lincoln Highway.

The Fire Company was on hand to distribute FREE smoke detectors to needy families who do not currently have working smoke detectors in their homes.

Rescue 44 was also utilized to provide lighting to the park after dark. Traffic 44 and Westwood Fire Police provided assistance with traffic control.

The fire company and our members remained at the services for approximately 2 hours.

If you or anyone you know is in need of a smoke detector, please contact us or your local fire department before it is too late.
