On Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 10:26 p.m., the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched with its pumper tanker to the unit block of North Hawthorne Road in West Brandywine Township for a reported house fire. Multiple 911 callers indicated that the fire was active, prompting a working fire dispatch alert.

Engine 44-5 arrived on scene at 10:36 p.m., and crews operated for just over an hour and a half. Firefighters from several companies searched the home, set up a water supply, and worked together to contain and extinguish the fire. The fire was brought under control at 11:24 p.m. Extensive overhaul was completed afterward, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
