Our ambulance subscription letter reads the following-
Thank you for your continued support throughout what has been our busiest year yet. Despite the challenges of recent years — including a global pandemic, hospital closures, and the strain placed on EMS agencies nationwide — we remain proud to provide our region with life‑saving Emergency Medical Services.
With the support of our municipal leaders and residents, we have not only maintained 24/7 service, but have risen to meet increasing demands with dedication and professionalism. Our team continues to work tirelessly to expand and enhance the services our community deserves.
The closure of our local hospital has resulted in longer transport times and increased fuel and operational costs. Despite these challenges, our membership rates for 2026 will remain unchanged. A single membership is $52, and a family membership is $104 — just $1 or $2 per week — offering substantial savings should you ever require emergency care.
Your participation in this subscription drive is essential. Our ability to respond quickly and effectively during emergencies relies on your support now more than ever.
For more than 25 years, Westwood Ambulance has proudly served Western Chester County. As our community continues to grow, so does the need for Advanced Life Support (ALS) services. Providing ALS care significantly increases operational costs, but it also allows us to deliver critical medications and interventions before arriving at the hospital — a capability that has become even more vital with longer transport distances.
Funding for our ambulance service is made possible through your contributions to this subscription drive, along with grants, fundraisers, and support from the municipalities we serve. While several municipalities have implemented tax-based EMS funding, these contributions account for only 30% of our total operating budget. Your subscription directly helps minimize additional tax burdens while ensuring high-quality emergency care remains available to all.
If we transport you to the hospital, we will bill your insurance carrier. However, ambulance services are not typically covered in full. For example, if we bill $2,000 and your insurance pays $1,000, you would normally be responsible for the remaining $1,000. As a subscriber, we will waive any remaining balance not covered by insurance — even if you require our services multiple times throughout the year. This represents a significant financial benefit to you and your family. |
