On Wednesday, October 22nd, 2014 the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched at 1314 simultaneously with the City of Coatesville Fire Department to the Westbound on-ramp of the Route 30 Bypass from Route 82 for reports of a vehicle accident.

Battalion Chief Sly responded within one minute of dispatch at 1315 and was advised of a report of a head-on collision.

Ambulance 44-1 was returning from Brandywine Hospital from previous medical emergency and arrived within 1 minute as well.

Assistant Chief Scott arrived just after the Ambulance and confirmed the report of the head-on collision.

EMS personnel from Westwood quickly tended to one injured person involved. City of Coatesville Fire Department units arrived and stood by at the scene.

Traffic 44 was assigned to the off-ramp of the Route 30 Bypass to block the roadway until the State Police arrived to take over traffic control.

Ambulance 44-1 transported one patient to Brandywine Hospital for evaluation and treatment.

All Westwood units cleared the scene at 1330.
