Drafting Operations To Meet Driver Qualifications
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By Assistant Chief Adam Grossman
June 20, 2016

Monday Firefighter Ranck met the final requirement for qualification on Engine 44-5. Engine 44-5 is a 3,000 gallon pumper tanker that can be used as an attack engine or used to supply and/or shuttle water into a fire scene.

Over the past several months Firefighter Ranck has been diligently working at becoming a qualified driver on Engine 44-5. Previously this year Firefighter Ranck completed the Pumper Driver/Operator course put on at the Chester County Public Safety Training Center.

During tonight's training, Engine 44-5 shuttled water into a port-a-tank that was being drafted by Engine 31-2. Sadsburyville Firefighters Rust and Messner were also meeting the requirements to become qualified drivers on Engine 31-2. Other firefighters from both fire companies were utilizing portable master streams to keep water flowing for the duration of the drill.

Thank you to all of the drivers who have spent countless hours on training to become qualified drivers.

Units: Engine 44-5

Mutual Aid: Engine 31-1, Engine 31-2
