By Assistant Chief Adam Grossman
June 25, 2016

Just after 1400 Saturday June 25th, 2016, the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to the Westbound Route 30 Bypass East of Route 82 in Valley Township for an auto accident. Calls to 911 indicated one vehicle had overturned and it was unknown on the extent of injuries.

Rescue 44, Tac 44, Traffic 44, Ambulance 44-1 and Ambulance 144 all made the response within minutes of being dispatch.

Arriving just 10 minutes after the time of dispatch, Ambulance 44-1 reported a one vehicle accident with minor injuries.

Fire/Rescue and Fire Police units took position on scene to protect our first responders from oncoming traffic until the Ambulances transported. Fortunately it was determined that all patients were refusing treatment and no EMS services were required.

After patient assessment the Fire/Rescue and EMS units cleared the scene, Fire Police remained on location assisting the Pennsylvania State Police with traffic control until a tow truck could remove the vehicle from the roadway.

Units: Rescue 44, Tac 44, Traffic 44, Ambulance 44-1, Ambulance 144
