In the early morning of November 22nd, 2016 the company was dispatched back out to the unit block of Park Avenue in East Fallowfield Township for a woods fire. Due to the high wind conditions and the large fire from the previous day, it was anticipated a re-ignition like this would occur. The local resident had been checking the area from the previous fire periodically throughout the night and during one of the checks, found a fire and immediately dialed 911.
At 0519 Engine 44-5 and Chief McWilliams arrived to find a 50' x 50' patch of woods on fire. ATV 44 was also responding with Rescue 44. ATV 44 accessed the fire and began fire suppression. Prior to their arrival the fire was contained by fire personnel and the land owner. Due to access issues, Engine 37-2 and Engine 31-1 were requested to respond to better access the fire area that was separated by a bridge not capable of handling Engine 44-5.
Engine 44-5 remained on the hard road and supplied water if needed. Rescue 44 accessed the fire area and deployed an 1-1/2" attack line to ATV 44 for a water supply. Engine 37-2 and Engine 31-1 crews came in with rakes and chain saws to overhaul the area. Park Avenue Command held by Chief McWilliams placed the situation under control at 0535 with all hands working. All units cleared the scene at 0631.
