The Westwood Fire Company was dispatched at 1122 hours for an odor investigation inside in the 100 block of Rawson Lane in the Hillview Section of Valley Township. By 1126 hours, Engine 44-5 with a crew of 4 and Ambulance 44-1 were on the street responding.

Assistant Chief Grossman arrived at 1133 hours and reported a 1.5 story duplex with all normal conditions from the exterior. Engine 44-5 arrived at 1134 hours and firefighters investigated an odor of smoke inside a 1st floor bedroom.

Firefighters determined a furnace had malfunctioned and the power was secured to that unit. Assistant Chief Grossman cleared out the assignment at 1142 hours.
