| On Saturday, November 2nd, Westwood Fire Company participated in a burn drill with Modena and West Bradford Fire Companies at the West Chester Training Facility.
Upon arrival, crews were split up into three different groups to focus on first floor fire attack, second floor fire attack, and Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) in case a firefighter went down. Crews encountered multiple fires on multiple floors and simulated distress calls throughout the training.
About halfway through the drill crews split up into different groups and continued operations. Several younger firefighters got experience running command throughout training to help them prepare to take on various future lead roles within the fire service.
Crews from Westwood and Modena EMS were on hand to provided rehab and EMS standby service to the firefighters during the drill
At the end of the day, as crews cleaned up from the exercise, Modena Fire Company ordered pizza for everyone who participated. Special thanks to Modena for inviting us to train with them. |
