| On Saturday, June 7th, 2014 Westwood EMS personnel attended the annual Wallace Township Community Day event held at Wagenseller Park in downtown Glenmoore.
Chiefs Sly and McWilliams arrived early to help our colleagues at the Glen Moore Fire Company with any assistance needed to prepare for the Fire Company's Chicken BBQ which was being served at Community Day.
Ambulance 44-2 was on display for the many residents who were in attendance. ATV44 was also on display and was being utilized by the Glen Moore Fire Company personnel to assist with transporting food and equipment from the firehouse to the park.
As the official Community Day kicked off at 1700, the public gathered on the ball field for a special presentation led by the Wallace Township Board of Supervisors.
An automatic external defibrillator was installed at the park in January following a recommendation by Past EMS Chief Sly to the Township using funds which were donated in memory of Joshua Tomlinson; a young Wallace resident who lost his life in a car accident in 2001.
Wallace Township Supervisors Chairman Rob Jones welcomed all in attendance and discussed the placement of the AED to the residents and family members of Joshua who were in attendance for an official dedication ceremony. He then introduced Chief Sly who gave an overview of the AED, its intended use, and the reasoning behind installing this important life saving device in the community.
Following the presentation, attendees were free to enjoy the many moon bounces, games, activities, and delicious chicken barbeque before a Movie in the Park was shown at 2000.
We would like to congratulate Wallace Township on another successful event on a beautiful day! |
