| On Saturday, May 31, 2014 the Cub Scouts from Pack 133 based out of Kings Highway Elementary School came down to the Fire Company to offer a hand in a work detail to get our pavilion ready for rental season.
The boys arrived at 0900 and worked for approximately 3 hours pulling weeds, raking leaves, collecting sticks from the fields, spreading mulch, hammering loose nails, and cleaning the restrooms. The boys then asked if they could help wash our ambulance!
It was a hot day and this was a fun and helpful way to cool off.
The station provided the boys and their parents with water and snacks for all their hard work.
The pack presented EMS Lieutenant Jessica Gensamer, whose son is also a member of Pack 133, with a check to be donated to the fire company. The inside of the card read:
"To the volunteers of The West Wood Fire Company,
Even though we are a little late, we wanted to say THANK YOU for all you did for our pack for our Banquet! The food was fantastic and we appreciate all of your donated time and hard work"
Sincerely,
Cub Scout Pack 133"
We'd like to thank the boys and their families for taking time out of their weekend to help us with this work detail! |
