On Sunday, May 28th, 2006 Engine 44-5 was dispatched at 0054 to assist the Wagontown Fire Company at a reported house fire in the 100 block of Pratts Dam Road in West Brandywine Township.

Responding units were able to see the fire from over 1 mile away.

Chief 44 arrived on location first and reported a 20'x40' garage involved.

Engine 44-5 responded with 5 personnel on board. Coatesville VA Fire Department Engine 76 was the first fire unit to arrive on location at 0104. Chief 44 instructed Engine 76 to lay a supply line into the driveway and prepare to knock down the bulk of the fire with a deluge gun.

Wagontown Rescue 35 and Engine 35 were next to arrive and proceeded in the driveway to deploy additional hoses at the front of the building on fire.

Chief Benach of the Wagontown Fire Company arrived on location and assumed "Command 35."

Engine 44-5 arrived next and was assigned to fill Engine 76 with water. East Brandywine Engine 49, Tanker 49, and Ladder 49 also arrived and were given assignments. Martin's Corner Engine 34-5 was assigned to fill Engine 44-5, acting as the nurse tanker to supply water to the scene. Martin's Corner Engine 34-1 was assigned to locate a hydrant in the area in order to refill the Tankers so that water could be shuttled back to the scene.

Chief Benach of the Wagontown Fire Company assigned Assistant Chief Conlin as the Manpower Officer, Deputy Chief Stein of the Wagontown Fire Company as the Safety Officer, Chief Sly as the Water Supply Officer, and Chief Metzler of the Martin's Corner Fire Company as the Fill Site Officer.

The fire was placed under control at 0138.
