| The Westwood Fire Company joins our community and the Pennsylvania State Police in mourning the tragic loss of Corporal Timothy J. O’Connor, Jr.
On Sunday, March 8th, 2026, Corporal O'Connor responded to an incident within our primary EMS response district in West Caln Township where he was subsequently ambushed and murdered. Our personnel were with Corporal O’Connor from the moment we arrived; working diligently and persistently to treat his injuries and rapidly transport him to the hospital. Thanks to the support of our law enforcement partners, an organized escort was quickly arranged to expedite his transport to the hospital facility. Despite the tireless efforts of every responder involved, Corporal O’Connor tragically succumbed to his injuries in the line of duty.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our neighboring EMS agencies for their support during this difficult call; Berks Medic 680, who rushed to meet our crews with blood intervention; and Berwyn Fire Company EMS, who assisted by cleaning and restoring our units at the hospital. With the aid of police departments throughout Chester County, each intersection from the incident scene to the receiving facility was controlled by law enforcement officers to ensure that our crews could safely and efficiently transport Corporal O'Connor. In addition, Good Fellowship Ambulance Club and Southern Chester County EMS provided coverage to our area during portions of the incident. These partnerships exemplify the strength of our emergency services community.
Please keep the O’Connor family, the Pennsylvania State Police, and all responders affected by this tragedy in your thoughts in the coming days. Let us honor and remember the legacy of Corporal O’Connor -- a dedicated public servant who gave his life in service for others. |
