November 6, 2026

On Friday, November 6 at 6:29 AM, the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to Strasburg Road in the area of Rebecca Lane in East Fallowfield Township for a reported motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, emergency crews found a two-vehicle collision blocking both lanes of Strasburg Road. Firefighters secured the scene, mitigated hazards, established traffic control, and assisted EMS personnel with patient assessment and care.
Strasburg Road remained restricted while emergency personnel worked to ensure the safety of those involved and clear the roadway. Once hazard mitigation was completed and the vehicles were removed, units were made available and returned to service.

Westwood Fire Company was assisted on scene by Westwood EMS, East Fallowfield Township Police Department, and Fling's Towing.

This incident also highlighted an ongoing concern for responder safety. Despite emergency vehicles with flashing lights, traffic control measures, and firefighters using hand signals to direct approaching motorists, numerous drivers failed to significantly reduce their speed while passing the scene. These actions place firefighters, EMS personnel, police officers, tow operators, and the public at unnecessary risk.

Emergency responders work on roadways every day to help those in need. We ask all motorists to slow down, stay alert, follow traffic control instructions, and move over whenever possible. A few extra seconds of your time can make the difference between responders returning home safely to their families or becoming victims themselves.

We all want to go home at the end of the day. Please help us make that possible.
