November 6, 2026

At 6:50 p.m. on November 6, 2026, Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Modena Fire Company for a reported building fire at Sealed Air Corporation, located at 22 Meredith Court in Modena Borough.

Upon arrival, crews found a working fire inside the facility. The fire was located between the first and second floors beneath industrial dryers used in the paper product manufacturing process. Plant employees and members of the facility's fire brigade initially attempted to extinguish the fire but were unsuccessful, prompting a call to 911.

Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines, with at least four stretched and two placed into active service to extinguish the fire. Due to the rapid response and coordinated efforts of responding companies, the fire was quickly brought under control, limiting damage primarily to machinery involved in the incident. No significant structural damage was reported.

At 7:29 p.m., command advised that the situation was under control. All employees had safely evacuated the building, and no injuries were reported. Crews remained on scene for overhaul, investigation, and to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.

Westwood Fire Company responded alongside mutual aid partners from Modena, Coatesville, Sadsburyville, Keystone Valley, West Bradford, Thorndale, East Brandywine, Wagontown, Honey Brook, Goodwill, and Po-Mar-Lin Fire Companies.

We commend the efforts of all responding personnel and are grateful that all employees safely exited the facility and that damage was contained through the quick actions of firefighters and plant personnel.

Units: Engine 44-5, Medic 344-1
