Live Burn Training

By Fire Chief John Sly
November 25, 2006

On Saturday, November 25th, 2006 some members of the Westwood Fire Company attended a live burn training sponsored by the Mittal Steel (Lukens) Fire Department. Firefighters from Modena Fire Company were also invited and in attendance.

The training took place at the West Chester Fire Department Training Center in West Chester, PA.

Firefighters practiced live fire attack and various interior fire simulations.

It is extremely important for our members to keep their skills up to date with various fire suppression techniques so that we may be best prepared to protect our community.

Special thanks to Chief Carpenter of the Mittal Steel Fire Department for inviting our members to participate in this training.

Thanks to Captain McGeady from the Mittal Steel Fire Department and Kim Dietrich for the photos.
