| On Monday October 28th, 2007 at approximately 19:00 hours the Westwood Fire Company and Brandywine Hospital Medic 93 were dispatched to the unit block of South Park Avenue in Valley Township for the reports of a structural collapse with entrapment. Deputy DiLuigi responded and was advised of one subject trapped underneath of a ceiling that had fallen on him.
Rescue 44, Ambulance 44 and Tac 44 all made the response within minutes of dispatch.
Deputy DiLuigi arrived on location with the Westwood units and found a subject laying on the kitchen floor underneath of a couple ceiling tiles that had fell on him. After further investigating it was determined this call to be a medical emergency and no fire department services were needed. Deputy DiLuigi made the fire units available.
After further evaluation and speaking with medical command, Paramedic High of Medic 93 determined the patient needed to be flown to a local trauma center. Rescue 44 and Tac 44 responded to the station and established a landing zone in the Westwood Baseball Field for Skycare to land in.
Captain Grossman and crews waited at the landing zone for Ambulance 44 and Medic 93 to arrive. Crews assited with carrying the patient on Skycare's stretcher to the helicopter. Westwood units were finally available a short time later.
