| You may have noticed our website has been rather quiet over the last month. Please don't think we're being lazy; it's just been really quiet around here!
Fortunately, that means that our community is safe and our volunteers are getting a much needed rest.
January 2009 saw the busiest month ever for the Fire/Rescue division in the 62 year history of the Fire Company, with 46 total responses. Many of these were mutual aid responses to the City of Coatesville, and many were working structure fires which kept our firefighters extremely busy, and extremely overworked. Fortunately, February saw less than half that amount of responses.
Our EMS Division also remains steady, continuing to operate as the only 100% full time volunteer Ambulance Service in Chester County. Our 2009 Ambulance Fund Drive is currently in the mail, and we rely on your financial support to sustain our operations. Thank you to those who have responded.
Several minor projects continue to be completed around our station, and we are thankful for our ongoing recruitment campaign in cooperation with HelpFightFire.com which has assisted us with recruiting six new firefighters who are anxious to serve the community. If you would like to be a part of our organization, please do not hesitate to contact us at recruitment@westwoodfire.com.
Please keep checking back for more updates. |
